The CLWA is offering
the following items to the membership and the general public. All monies received
from sales of these items goes to direct support of the CLWA.
The assortment of shirts are intended to promote the identify of the
CLWA.
Activities of the CLWA have included the long-standing Crystal Lake
"Walkabout", and most recently, the advent of "Archibald
Jones Day", in honor of "the man who pulled the plug at Crystal
Lake", celebrating the historic lowering of the level of Crystal Lake in 1873,
which resulted in the creation of the 21-mile perimeter of sandy beach around Crystal
Lake.
Several maps are also being offered to provide both historic and current
information about the Crystal Lake Watershed.
How to Purchase...
These items are being offered for
sale at various summer events and the CLWA Annual Meeting. They can also be
obtained by contacting the CLWA directly (see contact information at the top
of this page).

Doc Stuart Shapiro of Amherst,
NY was the grand-prize winner of the first Erie Canal songwriting contest sponsored
by the Discovery Center/City of Lockport Visitors Center. He composed, recorded and
performed The Lockport Locks (On The Erie Canal), and "Five Locks Up and Five
Locks Down", songs that celebrate the genius of canal construction. Upon request
by Stacy Daniels, "Doc" graciously agree to compose, "Mistake at
the Lake" (The Ballad of Archibald Jones) especially for the First Annual
Archibald Jones Day, held in Beulah, August 28, 2010. Shapiro, an attorney with Cohen
& Lombardo P.C. of Buffalo, and previously a professional solo guitarist, opening
for noted acts including Paul Anka, John Mellencamp and Buddy Rich. He now writes
original songs and plays in several local bands.
